Can I choose or meet my caregiver before services start?

Yes. Under certain Medicaid waiver programs in states such as Pennsylvania, you may nominate a family member for us to hire as your paid caregiver. This option is often available when the family member has already been providing unpaid care. However, your paid caregiver of choice cannot be your spouse, power of attorney (POA), legal guardian, or representative payee.

If you do not nominate a family member, or if program rules restrict your choice, we will assign an agency caregiver who is matched to your care needs and preferences. In all cases, you will have the opportunity to meet your caregiver—either in person or virtually—before services begin, ensuring compliance with program requirements while promoting comfort and continuity of care.
